Monuments
Opposite the station, the “Ineffaceable Traces of Humanity” monument commemorates the fate of the Jews of Walferdange during the Second World War.
The stele entitled “La grève des élèves-institutrices de l’École normale de Walferdange – 2 septembre 1942” is the most recent memorial in the municipality. It was inaugurated in October 2022 and is located near the Rond-point des Roses roundabout.
The commemorative stone “À la Mémoire des Enrôlés de Force – Walferdange – 1940-1945” is located in the Square de la Jeunesse Sacrifiée (Square of the Sacrificed Youth), a space next to the Place de la Mairie and adjacent to the school building of the Walferdange primary school.
The “Monument aux Morts”, inaugurated in 1949, is located on the Place des Martyrs near the Maison Dufaing.
