Obtaining Luxembourgish nationality by naturalisation, by option or by reclaiming nationality

You are a resident of Walferdange:

Applications and declarations for acquiring Luxembourgish nationality are made at the civil register of the municipal administration of Walferdange.

You live in another Luxembourg municipality:

Applications and declarations with a view to acquiring Luxembourg nationality are made to the commune of your place of habitual residence.

You live abroad:

The civil registrar of the Luxembourg City is competent to receive applications and declarations to recover Luxembourg nationality respectively to acquire Luxembourg nationality by option.

Applicants for the Luxembourgish nationality must appear in person before the civil register and attach all documents required by law.
