“Maison Relais” premises
Children can enjoy rooms for rowdy play, relaxation rooms and dining rooms.
Other rooms can serve various activities.
The “Maison Relais” is equipped with the professional kitchen where meals are prepared every day.
The playground of the school is also available to the children.
The “Maison Relais” offers surveillance to help student finish their homework and provides informational material.
1 hours of 2nd cycle and 1.5 hours for the 3rd and 4th cycle.
Everything is done to create a calm atmosphere so that children can work under the best conditions. The educational staff does not grade children’s homework.
It is crucial for parents to continue being interested in their child(ren)’s school, even if the homework is surveilled at the “Maison Relais”. Homework surveillance does not excuse parents from checking their children’s homework.
Activities are run by the assistance, who are always sure to offer a program that meets children’s interests such as sports (basketball, football, hockey, etc.), handcrafts and culture (woodworking workshop, art, etc.) and activities done outdoors.
During school vacation periods, we offer activities for school-aged children every day.
The Transition Center will organize two weeks in July in collaboration with the Commune of Walferdange and two weeks in August with the Woodstock Youth Home.
Before vacations, an activity program will be distributed to all children so they can sign up for them.
Children living in the town of Wafer who don’t go to the municipal schools can also come to the Maison Relais.
Registrations can be made at any time. For organizational reasons it is requested, that you should inform us of a new registration and/or any changes. Emergency drop-offs are possible, but please inform in advance by telephone.
The Maison Relais should be informed in advance if your child has to leave (e.g. doctors visit).
Prices depend on the contract for the service voucher card.
The Transition Center is directed by a graduate educator/manager (40 hours a week) and graduate assistant educator (20 hours a week)
Children are supervised by educators, aids, social educators and the staff in the school canteen.
