The “Meals on Wheels” service by SERVIOR

Thanks to the “Meals on Wheels” service by SERVIOR, it is possible to enjoy freshly prepared, healthy meals without having to cook or even go grocery-shopping, 365 days a year. Currently, SERVIOR collaborates with 26 cities and prepares some 150,000 meals annually for 650 seniors.

SERVIOR manages the orders, preparation & delivery of the meals which are served on porcelain plates. Meals are delivered Monday through Saturday in a very practical carrying case. Sunday meals are delivered the day before. Bills are issued by the commune, which is also the first point of contact for new potential customers.

Customers compose their menu for the day to their liking using a weekly schedule. They can choose two main dishes with a side of a soup, salad and a dessert. Of course, SERVIOR also offers alternatives for diabetics as vegetarian and low-salt options.

Whether you’re a loyal or occasional customer, handling is extremely simple: with a provided induction plate, customers reheat their meal with a single touch of a button. 40 minutes later, they can sit down to eat.

When preparing the meals, professional cooks at SERVIOR pay particular attention to regional ingredients. “Meals on Wheels” menus thus comply perfectly with the criteria of the “Soul schmaacht Lëtzebuerg” campaign. Another useful tip: the dishes, which are freshly prepared every day at the CIPA “Op der Léier” in Esch-sur-Alzette can be kept in the refrigerator up to 36 hours.
