Alert service to the population
In order to provide better communication of important news directly affecting our citizens, the Commune of Walferdange has chosen a “rapid alert and information service for the population.”
With this service, if you choose it, we can inform you by text message, voice alert via mobile landline phone or by email about an incident or imminent danger that may affect our town.
In which circumstances will the alert system be useful?
- Alerts in the event of danger or natural disaster (alert level of the Alzette, local evacuation, water pollution, gas leaks, etc.)
- Incidents at the local level (traffic, construction, etc.)
- Incidents in drinking water, gas or electricity supply, antenna, telephone relay
- Information about a change in the Town Council date
Do I have to join this alert system?
No. The alert system does not substitute the means of security already in place in the town. It is only for additional information in order to guarantee that those affected by an incident can be informed as quickly as possible.
What are my rights in terms of data confidentiality?
The authorities of the Commune of Walferdange and the company contracted to provide the service promise only to use confidential information given by their citizens in the context of the applications described above.
You just need to subscribe to the service using the link above and give your name, address and contact numbers to call. The service is free and reserved only for residents of the town. This service has been operational since 1 February 2010.
Or, you can also sign up by filling in this form and sending it in to Communal Administration.
